Microphone and Adaptive Boost

Amp Monkey requests microphone access only if you choose to enable Adaptive Boost. The microphone signal is analyzed in real time on your device only to estimate relative ambient sound level. Amp Monkey does not record, save, transcribe, recognize, upload, transmit, sell, or share microphone audio. Microphone samples are discarded as they are processed.

Data collection and sharing

Amp Monkey does not require an account and does not include advertising or analytics. The app does not collect or share personal information with The Educated Monkey LLC. App settings, such as boost level, appearance, and safety preferences, are stored locally on your device. Android may back up app settings according to your device and system backup settings.

Google Play services

Amp Monkey can use Google Play's in-app update service to check whether a newer version is available. That service is provided by Google Play and is subject to Google's applicable privacy practices. Amp Monkey does not receive microphone audio or personal profile information through the update check.

External links

If you choose to open The Educated Monkey website or send an email from the About screen, Android opens your browser or email app. Those external apps and services operate under their own privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Because Amp Monkey does not collect personal information on The Educated Monkey LLC servers, there is no server-side user profile or personal-data record to retain or delete. Local Amp Monkey settings can be cleared with Reset Amp Monkey Settings or removed by uninstalling the app.

Children

Amp Monkey is a general-audience audio utility and is not specifically directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If Amp Monkey's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated and the effective date will be revised. The current public policy should also be available from the Amp Monkey listing on Google Play.
